the aussie troupe has landed! the jungal ladies flew in last week - and following a stretch of lakeside rehearsals, we are ready to hit this country to the coast, westward...kicking off TONIGHT (thurs, aug 5th) in Sault Ste Marie at Lop Lops!

the first videoblog is already in the works(!)....and there will be many more goodies coming your way from us along the loooong canadian highway.

i will be keeping the tour alive through september with vancouver's o'mally, and edmonton's the low flying planes - posters attached!

helloooo!!!

it's hot in the city! ...and i like it!

this last month home in toronto has been wonderful. i'm enjoying encounters with the coatless....it seems everyone is coming out of the woodwork with these mad heatwaves!

this last weekend's southern ontario swing with seth anderson (the renegade kid) was great! big thanks to the pearl company in hamilton, the station coffee house in brantford and the cornerstone in guelph - and all of those who filtered in. such incredible culture specks on our map :)

june is coming to a close....already! *gasp* so, i'll be tying birthday month up with a big bow and ribbon....and two shows in TORONTO! both shows will feature Josh Turnbull on drums and the lovely SJ Darling on backup vocals!!!!! friday at the cameron house and tuesday at bread and circus in the market -- not to be missed! and cheap (pay what you can)! ...then it's back up north to sudbury for the canada day concert by the lake at science north, to perform songs by canadian greats with the Toe Jam Tequilla Band before the fireworks....and july. oh, july! (july highlights?....northern lights festival boreal, press club, london music club...and Jungal arrives from australia (!) to kick off the west coast canada summer tour!!!!)

summer was oh so worth the wait.

'twas a wonderful weekend at last weekend's NOMFA (Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards)! a wonderful industry conference and impressive film and music showcases - inspiring all around!!

hope you are all doing fabulously well in your corners of the globe. it's launching time here in torontooo!!!!!

i just returned from a lovely east coast mini-tour with miss sarah burton - we hit halifax, yarmouth, fredericton, st andrews...and back to halifax. a week and a half filled with full band fun, dancing crowds, east coast hospitality and via rails. the kind souls we met out on the east were a delight. i can't wait to go back! ...already mustering another eastern escape :) (new photos have been posted on all of my sites - check 'em out!)

...until then, though - there's a new album/DVD to launch!

faye blais music mail - "music for the mind" tomorrow (!) and early april east coast tour!

just a quickie to let you know that the big-bad charity concert "music for the mind" is taking place tomorrow night (saturday, april 3rd) in sudbury, ontario at the lovely cathedral-ceiling-ed sanctuary in st andrews place downtown (111 larch st). the fabulous female lineup includes sarah craig, cindy doire, jess lee, kristen brutto and myself - with all proceeds going to canadian mental health. tickets are selling fast - so go get'em (poster w/ details and ticket locations attached)!!! 'twill be a lovely event....i can't wait :)

alsoooo - it's touring time again! though we've only been back from cherry pickin' madness a whole two weeks, sarah burton and i will be heading east on east-er monday, to cover the whole dang country over this season - on our "kickin' the stars east coast tour", with beats and basslines by the little stinkers (pat phillips and del cowsill on drums & bass). wooohoooo! we will be getting ourselves there via rail again - performing for passengers all the way out - so look out for more supa-fun videoblogs :) (the cherry pickin' videoblog finales will be out of the bag soon too!!!). kickin' the stars tour poster attached :) the tour will run from april 6-13th....spread the word!
