New Album OUT, Canada Tour Dates ANNOUNCED, and Award WON!!!

Hellooooo!!!

Alright - this is one of my favorite kind of emails to write you all - because it is stocked with the BEST kind of news for me to annouce, all at once......THE NEW ALBUM IS OUT!!! (You can buy hard copies on my website www.fayeblais.com and digital copies/songs on itunes -here )....and second - CANADIAN ALBUM LAUNCH TOUR ANNOUNCED!!!  here is the list of tour dates below - really hope to see so many of you out on the road in Canada again so soon :)

Since it's May 1st release, the album has already been flying off the shelves, getting played by CBC (thank you for your requests - keep them coming!), and has won me a "Best Vocal Performance" Awards at this years NOMFA (Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards) last weekend back home in Sudbury, Canada, (for "The Ways I Love You", last year's single release). 

My time and tours in Australia were absolutely amazing. Six months sure did fly by in a flash. Three big tours (w/ Rosie Burgess Trio, Jungal, and the boys in the band), among other quick stints with favorites Genevieve Chadwick, The April Maze, Freya Hanly, and mooore. So many great festivals, bands, friends and memories....i can't wait to get back there (wink wink) :)

Alright, I'll keep this brief, and let the news speak for itself (you do have albums to buy and dates to write down in your calendars, afterall!).

Looking forward to seeing so many of you - to the rest, it was lovely seeing you on the other side of this globe - and i'm planning my return already, for when the leaves start to fall....

Triple J, CBC Radio, NOMFA Awards, and Tour News!!

HELLO!!!

Loads of fun news in this email...!

Since i've written you last - the NEW ALBUM has arrived - and been shipped out to those of you who supported it's making and pre-purchased your own copies (thanks again!)!  Some of you have now purchased them at my shows along the way....they're getting out there!  ...In more ways than one, actually - on both sides of the planet: in Australia, Triple J has spun the new single "The Pursuit", and back home in Canada, CBC Radio has been doing the same. Amazing. Some action already, and the album hasn't officially been released yet (it will be available everywhere in May). Thank you so much for spreading the word :)

In other news - I have been nominated for another NOMFA Award this year (Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards) in Canada - for "Best Vocal Performance" on the first released Single "The Ways I Love You". For those of you living in and around Sudbury, Ontario - you can attend the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 (get your tix at www.thinknorth.ca). I've scoped out the other nominees (both in Film and Music) - and they're amazing - it's going to be an incredible event!! Dave Clement, was nominated for "Best Cinematographer" for "Return to Manomin", Michelle Derosier's Native Canadian documentary film, which I wrote music for last year!! Also grrrreat news :)

So that's the quick update...I'm still on the road down the East Coast of Australia - the final week of this six month stint over here on this side (see upcoming dates below)......it won't be long before I'm back in Canada - launching the new album at home (psssst.....JUNE!). triple J & CBC radio

The second single off of the album, "The Pursuit" among others, have been getting radio play already, between Australian and Canadian Radio Stations - including Triple J and CBC, among others (Bay FM, ABC, etc). 

Let's keep the rotation on high! You can request to hear the tracks here on Triple J in Australia, and CBC Radio 3 in Canada - and of course, call up any radio station you'd like to hear it on - spread the word :) :)

The NEW ALBUM is here! & Farewell Australia Tour (with BAND!) Dates!

The Albums have arrived!!

An incredibly warm and heartfelt thank you to all of you who supported the making of the new album. Having such a massive response to the Pre-purchase and Support options and video, to help me get it into your hands, was truly overwhelming - and worked!! We hit the $3000 goal (and then some!) and i was able to get everything sent off and printed just in time....and am now holding it in my hands - what a feeling!!!

Now to get it into yours!  I will be signing and shipping the copies out right away - so expect yours in your mailboxes in the next couple of weeks :)  The official release (iTunes, online stores, etc) will be May 1st......

But for those of you who like being ahead of the rest - you (and your friends :)) can still pre-order copies from my website, and for the Australians - you can grab them at my shows on this upcoming "Farewell Australia" tour!!!

Yes - one more tour! It has been a busy stint here in Australia, but it is coming to an end, as the Summer season dwindles.....so it's time to hit the road once more before heading home to Canada, on my last East Coast run, for the "Farewell Australia - Album Pre-Release Tour" - with a BAND!!!! Aussie Tourin' - East Coast, Tassie and mooooore!

G'day!

It's time to hit the road again....back in Australia!

I'll be kicking around these parts for a total of 6 months - until i return to home to Canada in April. 

I've just wrapped up East Coast and Tasmania tours, and am home for a holiday rest in Melbourne...then off again - up the East Coast, over to Western Australia, and mooore!

I've squeezed into the van with good friends and AMAZING performers, The Rosie Bugess Band, from Melbourne up the coast to Brisbane and back, from November 23rd to Dec 5th. With only 2 days rest upon my return to Melbourne - I hopped onto the Spirit of Tasmania, over to the island for another short run with fabulous ladies you all know and love, Jungal!! We had a SUCH a great time! 

I will be hitting the Hot Pants Festival over New Year's, and the East Coast again, with Jungal in January, as well. So if you missed me up the coast in Nov/Dec - I'll be seeing you soon! There is new territory to explore this time around, too - WA! I have heard such great things about the West Coast, so am super excited to check it out for Nannup Music Festival at the end of Feb ;)

It has been sooo wonderful to see so many familiar faces, already - i am looking forward to seeing the rest of you! My goodness, i do love this fine land.

Australian Tour Dates, New Video, New Album and Canadian Summer Tour Re-cap!

hellooooo!

with just a short family-tme break under my belt, i'm off again! back to australia this time...today! my flight leaves in a few hours out of toronto....eee!

this past summer of touring was an absolute blast. it kicked off on may 28th westward, fromtoronto to victoria, down to california and back eastward, until we returned home to toronto on september 25th. i know. that is a loooong time. so many shows, festivals, and fun in those 4 months - what a summer! 

my time "home" consisted of only a few days in toronto before heading north to sudbury withJosh Turnbull and his studio, to record my new album! we hit my family's cabin on the lake, where i've spent the majority of my summers growing up, for 7 days of musical lock-down. the stars aligned for some very special guests to drop-in - the songs are sounding VERY exciting!!! i don't want to give too much away....just yet...so will keep you at the edge of your seat. but a little teaser: YOU will certainly be the first to know! so keep in touch - (i'm planning a pre-release cyber-party and want you to come ;))

following the cabin sessions, i spent some much needed time with my family (and new nephew!), and enjoyed the changing of the seasons, and just enough cool breezin' to send me on my way. 

oh - and i also filmed a music video for "The Ways I Love You" with north bay's Patrick Gilbert!! the video is up as of today! see the link below.

and now back to aus - for six months of touring touring touring (and more sunshine!). i'll be hitting the road this time, with a slew of aussie musos, including those you remember well - "Jungal" and "The Rosie Burgess Band". dates and words from the road will be updated on my website along the way - at www.fayeblais.com .
