Byron Bay Bluesfest + New Zealand & FINAL Australian Tour Dates + CANADA!

Hellooooo!!

How are you?  It's been too long...!

I'm just writing you with a little update - and some more tour dates and announcements, of course!!! more, more, more...no rest for the wicked. 

It all begins tomorrow - with a flight to Brisbane, a bus to Byron and Bluesfest for 4 days! I can't believe it. Seriously?! Rubbing shoulders (*manifesting) with Paul Simon, Robert Plant, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Armatrading, Ben Harper, Counting Crows, The Cat Empire, Manu Chao, Rufus Wainwright, and soooo many more....backstage! It's all too much. (I promise to report - so keep in touch on facebook, instagram, twitter and all that jazz.) The reason for this incredible opportunity, is that i'll be accompanying the fabulous Genevieve Chadwick for her performances - as we kick off the last leg of our - what has been an - epic Australian Tour over Summer 2013. This is it. We've put together a final string of special shows, which will all wrap up in Melbourne at the Retreat for a BIG ONE: my last Australian show, Gen's birthday, and a triple-bill with Jungal to rock out the night!!! YEAH - what a finish. I can't wait (not that i'm rushing anything... ;)). Check out the dates below - and on my website (www.fayeblais.com).

But before we really get into the swing of it - I will be making a return trip to New Zealand, to tour as a duo (with the lovely Victoria Beard from Jungal). I cannot wait to get back to that beautiful land - and see some smiley, friendly, familiar faces. This tour has shaped up to be a lovely week of intimate, community-based shows (my favourite) - and I just can't wait to connect. I've listed next week's NZ dates below - so please do pass them on to any Kiwis in your good books ;)

Then it's back home to Canada. 

And what better way to arrive then playing a show with my favourite ladies: The Ladies in Waiting. So exciting. We're still in the midst of announcing the show - so there are many 'a detail to come about it - but I wanted you to be the first to know :) So, save the date: May 29th - Lula Lounge, Toronto.

Plans for the Canada & USA Summer Tour are coming along beautifully for August & September 2013 - but i will leave you with that thought for now, at the risk of overloading you just before a big holiday weekend. We'll leave room for tofurkey.

Oh - and just one more thing: in case you haven't yet - pre-purchase one of Jungal's albums (they're making a new one - check out their cute lil vid here!)!!

AUS & NZ Dates, New Music Video, and Ladies in Waiting Compilation Launch!

Hellooooo!!!!

Welcome to the mailing list!! Lovely to meet you in these past few weeks - here's your first update from me ;)

It's been quite a while since my last update - so HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope your holiday season was filled with cheer, goodness, friends & family and all that jazz!

I had a wonderful break leading up to the holiday season in Canada, and am now geared-up in full touring-force here in Australia (& NZ!) - much to report! 

This Australian Tour has been incredible so far (with the wonderful Genevieve Chadwick), and we've only just begun. January is behind us, but loads of dates are up for February and March - with our final April Tour to be announced in the next couple of weeks. Aaaaand, this just in: you are the FIRST to see the New Zealand Tour Dates!! I will be touring NZ as a duo, with Victoria Beard (from Jungal) on bass (yay!)! So excited to return to that fine piece of land.....ah.

Back in Canada, much is buzzing with the upcoming release of our Ladies in Waiting Collective compilation "Lovesick", launching at the Lula Lounge on Tuesday, February 12th in Toronto (that's next week!)!  Unfortunately, I won't be there in body, but most certainly in spirit - and song, as the ladies will be covering a short set of my tunes ("awwwwww!"). Tickets are selling fast - so make sure you grab some, and dinner too for a little pre-Valentine's Day celebration, if you're in Toronto next week (you can buy tix - and the album - here - www.LIWcollective.com - check out our fun little promo vid for the show here!)

I've also just released a BRAND NEW MUSIC VIDEO today!!! The official vid for "The Pursuit" is up and out - so make sure you have a look. It was filmed in my hometown of Sudbury in June, just before the Canadian Summer Tour with a fabulous team of incredibly talented individuals - so much fun!  (Spoiler Alert: We built that set in my friend's basement, downtown Sudbury...hehe - loved every minute of it!).

Ruby TFO TV, Last Sudbury Show, and AUSTRALIAN TOUR!

Salut les amis!

I hope you are all well and wonderful, and enjoying a little downtime this season, too! I am thoroughly enjoying some stability in my life here in Toronto, after years (literally!) of continuous road-warrioring, and night-after-night showtimes.....not that this break will last much longer, though - I'll be back on the road real soon --- in AUSTRALIA!!  Domestic life and home-cooked meals have been treating me most delightfully. It has been an absolute pleasure spending so much time with friends and family - and all by meself, here in my apartment. New songs are spilling out, and my cravings for travel (avec guitar) are creeping in.....it's time to get back in the saddle!

Toronto Launch Party (FRIDAY!), Cash Cab, and Bobby gets Pimped(?!)

helloooo!!!

i write you all from my apartment in toronto - home! a place i haven't rested my head for long enough, in far too long. so i've scheduled a little toronto time for myself - to write, garden, cook and work on new projects and ideas, before i hit the road (and australia!), real hard, real soon again! woohoo! 

before the break really begins though (whatever "break" really means), i do have some shows coming up - including my TORONTO ALBUM LAUNCH at the DRAKE  UNDERGROUND on friday (yes - this friday, july 27th - get tix here!) - with none other than a couple of my favs, finally home from tour - SCARLETT JANE (Andrea Ramolo & Cindy Doire's new - and fabulous - project ;)). 

the canadian album launch tour over the past month has been an absolute blast. josh turnbull, tricia foster and i were a match made in mononcle/matante heaven - onstage and off. i just can't say enough (good) about them both. they are wonderful - and made this tour a memorable one for myself, and all of those we played to along the way (if i may say so myself!). 

i hope you get the chance to catch us in the few shows coming up this summer/fall - otherwise, i'll see you soon enough again......maybe on tv!

..that's right - tv! turns out the camera has been following me in a few mystical ways over the past couple of months: i randomly stepped into "Cash Cab", and will be on canada's version of "Pimp my Ride" (Bobby might get a makeover!!), a new show - both airing this fall in Canada (Discovery Channel). i was also the winner of a 51" flat screen tv two weeks ago atBianco's Supercentre in Sudbury (i "liked" their page on facebook, unknowingly entering the competition!)...i haven't even owned a television in the past decade. sooooo i figure the universe is pointing me in some screenlike direction.....who knows what the future holds!?!! stay tuned!

Alright - this is one of my favorite kind of emails to write you all - because it is stocked with the BEST kind of news for me to annouce, all at once......THE NEW ALBUM IS OUT!!! Since it's May 1st release, the album has already been flying off the shelves, getting played by CBC (thank you for your requests - keep them coming!), and has won me a "Best Vocal Performance" Awards at this years NOMFA (Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards) last weekend back home in Sudbury, Canada, (for "The Ways I Love You", last year's single release). 

My time and tours in Australia were absolutely amazing. Six months sure did fly by in a flash. Three big tours (w/ Rosie Burgess Trio, Jungal, and the boys in the band), among other quick stints with favorites Genevieve Chadwick, The April Maze, Freya Hanly, and mooore. So many great festivals, bands, friends and memories....i can't wait to get back there (wink wink) :)

Alright, I'll keep this brief, and let the news speak for itself (you do have albums to buy and dates to write down in your calendars, afterall!).

Looking forward to seeing so many of you - to the rest, it was lovely seeing you on the other side of this globe - and i'm planning my return already, for when the leaves start to fall....

Triple J, CBC Radio, NOMFA Awards, and Tour News!!

HELLO!!!

Loads of fun news in this email...!

Since i've written you last - the NEW ALBUM has arrived - and been shipped out to those of you who supported it's making and pre-purchased your own copies (thanks again!)!  Some of you have now purchased them at my shows along the way....they're getting out there!  ...In more ways than one, actually - on both sides of the planet: in Australia, Triple J has spun the new single "The Pursuit", and back home in Canada, CBC Radio has been doing the same. Amazing. Some action already, and the album hasn't officially been released yet (it will be available everywhere in May). Thank you so much for spreading the word :)

In other news - I have been nominated for another NOMFA Award this year (Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards) in Canada - for "Best Vocal Performance" on the first released Single "The Ways I Love You". For those of you living in and around Sudbury, Ontario - you can attend the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 (get your tix at www.thinknorth.ca). I've scoped out the other nominees (both in Film and Music) - and they're amazing - it's going to be an incredible event!! Dave Clement, was nominated for "Best Cinematographer" for "Return to Manomin", Michelle Derosier's Native Canadian documentary film, which I wrote music for last year!! Also grrrreat news :)

So that's the quick update...I'm still on the road down the East Coast of Australia - the final week of this six month stint over here on this side (see upcoming dates below)......it won't be long before I'm back in Canada - launching the new album at home (psssst.....JUNE!). The second single off of the album, "The Pursuit" among others, have been getting radio play already, between Australian and Canadian Radio Stations - including Triple J and CBC, among others (Bay FM, ABC, etc).

The NEW ALBUM is here! & Farewell Australia Tour (with BAND!) Dates!

The Albums have arrived!!

An incredibly warm and heartfelt thank you to all of you who supported the making of the new album. Having such a massive response to the Pre-purchase and Support options and video, to help me get it into your hands, was truly overwhelming - and worked!! We hit the $3000 goal (and then some!) and i was able to get everything sent off and printed just in time....and am now holding it in my hands - what a feeling!!!

Now to get it into yours!  I will be signing and shipping the copies out right away - so expect yours in your mailboxes in the next couple of weeks :)  The official release (iTunes, online stores, etc) will be May 1st......

But for those of you who like being ahead of the rest - you (and your friends :)) can still pre-order copies from my website, and for the Australians - you can grab them at my shows on this upcoming "Farewell Australia" tour!!!

Yes - one more tour!
